rate dog food quality

Let’s have a cat food poll!?
Yes, I know, I asked this question already! However, it was 12:00 AM here when I did so… I want to see what a day time audience brings me!
If you raw feed, do you feed BARF or Raw Prey Model?:
Why did you choose whichever one you chose over the other?:
If you feed cat food, what brand do you feed?:
Do you feel the food you are feeding is a good brand to be feeding?:
If you do, why do you feel it’s a good brand?:
How does your food brand rate here?: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/
Do you feed wet or dry?:
Why do you feed whichever you feed?:
Do you feed on a schedule or freefeed?:
Note: Yes, I’m aware that the website I linked to is a dog food website. However, most brands that put out high quality dog foods also put out high quality cat foods. Of course… you won’t find things like Friskies or Meow Mix there. Just do your best!
I feed an almost whole prey model – it’s meat/bones/organs in the correct ratios but it’s ground.
I chose this for a few reasons. One, I have a relatively local supplier so I can get the meat preground at a low cost without having to pay shipping fees. I save a ton of money this way. Since I didn’t know if I could get the girls to eat this, I didn’t want to invest in a grinder that might not be used. I like the fact that it includes the bones and organs so I don’t have to do a lot of supplementing for what’s missing. I liked the fact that the ground meat was easy to hide in the canned food. I tried plunking down chunks of meat and got no takers. With the ground meat it was very easy to disguise it and Poppy now gobbles it up.
There were probably a few other factors too but these are the ones that stand out.
Sophie got left behind because I focused so much on Poppy. When I tried converting her she ran into some problems. I have a new game plan for her and hope to get her eating raw yet.
Before I went raw, I fed canned Natural Balance venison & green pea. Then I switched to Nature’s Variety Instincts venison. Poppy then went raw and Sophie started refusing. I switched her to Wellness turkey and she’s now back to the NB venison. She occasionally gets B.G. Quail too.
I do feel these are good brands. I don’t think the NB is as good as the NV but if they don’t eat it, what good is it? LOL And it’s not like it’s really bad or anything.
I feel they’re good because they are grainless and because they were suggested in my favorite list: http://www.catinfo.org/commercialcannedfoods.htm, but also because they cleared up Poppy’s loose stool and helped her lose weight.
I use dry food (NV Instincts) only as a treat. I feed the way I do because I wanted to fix Poppy’s problems, and this was the path that was shown to me. I don’t mean mystically, I mean out here on Answers around 2 years ago. I asked a question, got some good answers, and took it from there.
I free-fed my last cat and she was ok with that. I tried that with Poppy and she blew up like a poison toad. Rather than switching her to meals I went this route.
So because I’m feeding wet I do feed on a schedule.
