About Me

Hi, I'm Kara.

I used to breed yellow labs for Leader Dogs for The Blind here in Michigan and we had one or two litters a year for about eight years - that's a lot of puppies. I spent a lot of time learning about socialization training for the pups in their first six or seven weeks before turning them over to their own puppy raiser. They were too young when they left for me to ever have to house train them or basic train them sit, stay and fetch.

Now that the "girls" are retired, I have spent more time learning about training older dogs. I have a maltese now that is afraid of big dogs. I wanted to learn how to train older dogs so they would be calmer, better companions. I learned so much from this book, I wanted to share it with you. Click here to see the product I use.

I used to breed yellow labs for Leader Dogs for the Blind in Michigan so had plenty of experience with socialization training on zero to six week old puppies. But when the two labs were “retired” from breeding our family decided to get a tiny dog, an adorable maltese.

I had to learn all about how to train and to keep training an adult dog for all sorts of things like fear aggression behavior and excessive barking. Ziggy just went nuts every time the door bell rang.
