Where can I have my dog professionally trained?
I live in Ohio and was wanting to have my dog police trained or professionally trained to be a guard dog. I don’t want him to be mean, I just want him to attack on command and stop on command. Any tips would be helpful.
NO…you don’t want him to attack on command. Nobody has any business with a dog that will attack on command. Very few dogs are capable of it anyway. When there is a threat, the dog will know it before you….ALWAYS. Should he run to you and ask for his “attack word”?? All he needs to do is STOP on command.
The word you’re looking for is “Protection” dog….unless you plan on throwing it in a yard somewhere (junk yard dog). “Police” training will do you no good, as you’ll have to leave the dog at home whenever you go somewhere…’cause he’s gonna bite somebody. It sounds like what you want is a professionally trained personal protection dog.
Find a trainer and have your dog evaluated to see if he even has the temperament, drives & nerves to do it.
